Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) has announced the launch of two new outpatient clinics aimed at enhancing specialized care and reducing wait times for patients.
The new Joint Injection Clinic and Colposcopy Clinic demonstrate NGH’s ongoing commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of the community.
The Joint Injection Clinic, which began operations on December 13, 2024, offers patients relief from joint pain and injuries.
Staffed by Dr. Femi Ayeni and a team from McMaster University, the clinic provides assessments, imaging, and targeted joint injections to help patients manage conditions such as arthritis.
The clinic operates two Fridays per month, with referrals accepted through the McMaster Orthopedic Clinic, prioritizing local residents.
The newly established Colposcopy Clinic provides essential follow-up care for patients referred after abnormal Pap test results.
Led by gynecologist Dr. Rupanjali Kundu, the clinic performs detailed examinations using a colposcope to detect cervical cell changes, with biopsies available during the same visit.
The clinic is open on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., located in the Surgical Daycare Area on the second floor.
NGH’s initiative aims to offer specialized treatment close to home, reducing the need for long-distance travel and providing timely interventions for patients in need.
Hospital representatives express pride in expanding services that will have a meaningful impact on the community’s well-being.
