After losing her husband to suicide, Karen Hammond of Port Rowan teamed up with photographer Darlene Fros to break the stigma around mental health.
Together, they launched the “Walk With Me Project,” now in its second year.
That was Fros, who came to the station to speak with us.
This year’s event, happening Sunday, will feature expert speakers and authors sharing stories of resilience while also having many local services on hand for questions.
Supported by community sponsors, the free event at Port Rowan Community Centre invites all to walk together toward better understanding and support for mental health and addiction challenges.
Because, Fros says, it affects more people than you may think.
