The Festive RIDE campaign is kicking into high gear as we approach Christmas and New Years.

Since it’s launch in November, the OPP West Region conducted over 800 stops, meaning you will be seeing more police out on the road.
There have been 148 impaired driving charges linked to the Festive RIDE campaign so far, some of those charges happening during the suspected late night hours on the weekend but that’s not always the case.
In Norfolk specifically, there has been 52 RIDE events, leading to 9 impaired driving charges.
The message is simple – don’t risk getting behind the wheel while impaired.
The Festive RIDE campaign is an annual police enforcement and education initiative aimed at taking impaired drivers off Ontario roads during the holiday season.
