The Grand Erie District School Board will officially open its new Innovation Hub @ Grand Erie tomorrow (Nov 21). This cutting-edge learning space, located at North Park Collegiate in Brantford, is designed to inspire students in grades 7 to 12 to explore advanced tools in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
The opening event runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Highlights include a virtual keynote by Mark Daley, Chief AI Officer at Western University, on the role of AI in education. Another keynote by Curtis Carmichael, a teacher and coach, will discuss inclusive innovation. STEAM showcases will also demonstrate how students can use the space.
Board Chair Susan Gibson calls the hub a key investment in future learning, while Director of Education JoAnna Roberto says it will empower students to transform ideas into reality.
The hub aims to boost achievement, well-being, and collaboration in a state-of-the-art environment.
