Things are getting festive down in Jarvis.
The Jarvis Light Up is coming up fast, where the the community of Jarvis and Townsend will flip the switch and illuminate the community.
We spoke with Elf Lisa Nigh, who says as their celebrate their 5th event, they can’t help but note the big growth they’ve seen.
That large light installation she is talking about is the ever expanding Path of Giants tour.
Since the inception, businesses have jumped on – either by putting up big displays, donating amazing items, or just helping out anywhere that is needed.
That spread of Christmas spirit doesn’t stop at the stores.
Elf Lisa says she is always over the moon to see people coming up to her and asking “how can I help?”
She has also been stunned year after year by the people who decorate their homes.
Whether it be that house that normally wouldn’t do anything deciding to put up some lights or that home that goes over the top – all of it is appreciated.
They have prizes for home decorations each year, but there is one thing different this year for those past winners.
After 5 years, the Jarvis Light Up has become connected to the community.
This small town fun is stretching out pretty far.
Coming up soon as well, they will be launching their Jarvis the Elf scavenger hunt, encouraging kids to go to local businesses and try to find that sneaky little elf.
Tomorrow, we will be discussing two special events they have on their agenda for two weekends in December, and there is a Grinchy twist this year as well.
