We are inching closer to the holiday season and the OPP wants to make sure that we’ve got our eyes open to scams making the rounds.
Spokesperson Bill Dickson says they come at you from all directions.
Just recently, a resident was swindled out of $134,000 in Norfolk in a cryptocurrency scam.
Dickson says trusting your gut is key, and get educated.
He adds that unsolicited contact is almost always not a good thing.
The best place to educate yourself is through the Canadian Fraud Centre.
There you can find out what the current scams are to arm yourself properly against these crooks.
