On November 3rd, Norfolk County OPP officers on patrol in Simcoe arrested a local man after stopping his vehicle. The incident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. on Talbot Street South, where officers noticed a vehicle and decided to investigate. After stopping the car on Court Street, officers took the driver, a 36-year-old Norfolk County, man into custody without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered suspected crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. The accused now faces multiple charges, including obstructing a peace officer, failure to surrender required documents like his licence, permit, and insurance card, and driving without a validated permit. Additionally, he is charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and possession of Schedule I substances for the purpose of trafficking.
