The community is shivering with antici………pation for the Lighthouse Festival’s screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Taking place next Saturday (October 26th), expect to see a lot of colourful characters walking into the Port Dover theatre.
We spoke with Hailey Parker, Technical Director, and Don Kearney-Bourque, Marketing and Communications Manager, about the beloved event that got even bigger last year.
The special thing about the night, aside from just enjoying the film and party, is that it is a time when people can just cut loose and have fun for a night.
Dressing up is always encouraged, but not mandatory.
If fishnets are not your thing, you can always dress up as something else.
The theatre also wants to make sure that everyone has the full experience, which means you may need to pack some items from home.
If this is your first time seeing The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the big screen, and you are worried about all the little rules, the duo lets you know it’s just meant to be a fun thing to do, and you will catch on quickly.
If you are still a little worried about what to yell, or what to throw, they have seats waiting for you.
If this sounds like it’s up your alley, you are encouraged to get tickets as soon as possible.
The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. with the dance going from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
This is a 19+ event with no outside food or drink allowed, aside from the movie props such as toast and water guns.
You are also asked to bring non-perishable food items or hygiene products for the Port Dover and Area Lifeline Foodbank.
Ticket information can be found here.
