Where the American Can factory once stood, there soon could be a large residential development.
Council voted in favor of moving forward with developing the vacant land behind the Robinson Administration Building.
The developer plans to build an 8-storey mixed-use building with 143 residential units on floors 2 through 8, and commercial retail units and office space on the ground floor.
This proposal was first brought to council in 2021, when concerns were raised. It returned on Wednesday with the developer addressing those concerns and complying with county regulations.
The new plan received unanimous support.
