The Norfolk County Fire Department believing a phone charger may be the culprit behind a $500K house fire near Bill’s Corners.
Crews were called out to the home and eventually got the fire under control.
No one was home at the time of the blaze.
The preliminary investigation shows the fire could have been caused by a charger, though nothing was on the cord at the time of the fire.
Norfolk County Fire Prevention reminds you to use only the charging equipment that came with your device and immediately discontinue use if your charging accessories become kinked, damaged, discoloured or show signs of malfunction.
