The Norfolk County Fire Department was sent out Sunday morning to a house fire in Simcoe.
When they rolled up to the residence on Hiawatha St. they could see flames and smoke coming from the front of the home.
The fire was quickly contained, family members, including a cat and dog, escaped safety – but some snakes passed away by what they believe is due to the smoke.
Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $250,000.
