Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) has taken a major step toward improving patient care by becoming a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) pre-designate in April 2024. This three-year partnership with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) aims to implement Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs) that will enhance patient outcomes and promote evidence-based healthcare practices.
The staff and nurses held a launch party for the public this past Saturday behind the hospital in the courtyard. A perfect spot to celebrate becoming a Best Practice Champion.
As part of this journey, NGH is focused on introducing key guidelines, including Transitions in Care, Persons and Family-Centred Care, and Delirium and Dementia care. The hospital will also develop Best Practice Champions—dedicated staff and healthcare professionals who will lead efforts to adopt and share these practices across the organization.
If you’re interested in becoming a Best Practice Champion or have any questions, please contact Jennifer Edwards, Director of Quality, at jedwards@ngh.on.ca.
