HipFest, is set to return to Brantford’s Harmony Square at 89 Dalhousie Street on Saturday, August 17th, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This free outdoor concert, presented by Hudson Public – Kitchen and Bar, celebrates the music and legacy of The Tragically Hip. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy live performances by headliner 50 Mission and The Surgically Hip, presented by the Downtown Brantford BIA.
Jennifer Middleton, Special Events Supervisor for the City of Brantford, expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support from local sponsors. She noted that The Tragically Hip’s music not only evokes nostalgia but also unites fans who share a love for the band’s iconic songs.
The Surgically Hip, Canada’s newest tribute band, will kick off the evening at 7 p.m., followed by Brantford’s own 50 Mission at 8:30 p.m. Fans can expect an authentic Tragically Hip experience, complete with a lead vocalist who captures the essence of Gord Downie.
In addition to the music, attendees can support local vendors and artisans at the on-site marketplace, offering a variety of goods. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Free parking is provided at the Market Centre Parkade on 59 Icomm Drive, and Brantford Transit will offer convenient transportation to Harmony Square, with the main terminal located just one block away.
