Ontario is doubling the number of children eligible for vaccination against a highly contagious respiratory virus.
The virus known as RSV causes infections in the respiratory tract and is especially contagious among young kids and the elderly.
This push comes after a particularly bad year for both RSV and the flu in 2022, when pediatric hospitals were overwhelmed with sick children.
Pregnant women will be able to be inoculated with a different vaccine that provides R-S-V protection to newborns.
