The need for blood donations is at an all time high.
We spoke with Maureen Macfarlane and Bikram Singh Basra, Community Development Managers at Canadian Blood Services.
Macfarlane said the need to growing but the people stepping up to the plate to donate going down.
She knows, for a lot of people, there is one thing holding them back – but offered some reassurance.
Basra is hopeful, whatever the reason may be that someone isn’t donating, that they will reconsider when looking at the numbers.
Basra said that Blood products play a critical role in everyday medical care.
The Tillsonburg Community Centre is hosting a blood clinic this Friday at the Tillsonburg Community Centre.
The next blood clinic in Simcoe takes place on Tuesday, July 16th at the Royal Canadian Legion.
There is also a blood clinic scheduled for August in Waterford and Port Dover in September.
