54-40 is excited to hit the stage tonight (Friday) as part of the Fairgrounds Festival.
We spoke with lead guitarist Dave Genn as the band was getting prepared to travel to Norfolk, talking about what fans can expect.
Genn knows all about those hit songs as well.
He is still considered “the new kid” in the band, despite joining up 20 years ago after leaving the Matthew Good Band.
He says that he was a fan of 54-40 long before he joined up, noting their music was a big part of his Grade 12 year.
Despite it being 20 years with the band, he still has those “wow” moments – especially on stage.
54-40 put out a new album just this year.
Genn said while they love playing the hits, they want to make sure they are constantly growing as a band.
Genn also spoke highly of By Divine Right and the Sam Roberts Band, who they are sharing the stage with tonight.
Gates open at 4 p.m. at the Fairgrounds with the music beginning at 7 p.m.
