My Broadcasting Corporation (or MBC) has won a Keystone Award for Job Creation. MBC is the parent company of 98.9 myFM and Oldies 99.7.
The awards honour Canadian private companies that are leading the way in their communities and beyond, both in the job creation and innovation forums.
Jon Pole, President of MBC accepted the award on behalf of the company. He tells us its always nice for a business to be recognized for the work they do in their community, but this award different.
Pole credits the team at MBC for its success, saying it’s vital to have the right people in the right places.
There’s another reason that MBC has been so successful in job creation – employees share many of the same values with the company.
Pole says people working for MBC want to make their communities stronger, whether that is helping local non-profits, hospital foundations, or food banks to name a few. The entire team across the province is dedicated to community improvement.
The Keystone Award also gives MBC a seat at the table with other local winners to discuss local success and challenges they are facing and lobby to improve them.
The awards were presented to more than 70 recipients at Keystone’s annual Gala at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa presented by The Sutherland Investment Group at CIBC Wood Gundy.
Keystone was founded by Toronto-bases entrepreneur Dean French who calls Canada’s small and medium size businesses the keystone to the economy.
Hundreds were in attendance to watch the winners receive their awards and listen to a keynote address from Canadian billionaire business pioneer Frank Stronach, founder of Magna International.
