A Brantford sailor and her American co-pilot have set a new world record, becoming the fastest women’s pair team to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
Brantford’s Lisa Roland and Lauren Champion (Nini) of Annapolis, Maryland, made the crossing in 45 days, one hour and 27 minutes.
That beats the last record of 45 days, seven hours and 25 minutes — set in 2021.
Nini says the hardest part of the journey was acclimatizing between her and Roland to get used to each other’s schedules and way of working.
