You’ve heard of the Golden Globes, the Emmys and of course the Oscars.
Last month Norfolk General Hospital and its nursing home had a big awards ceremony of their own…their annual OSCARS and Dr. George Marshall Award ceremonies to honour the remarkable dedication of their staff.
On top of recognizing the exceptional achievements of individuals, they also celebrated employees and doctors for their longstanding service and retirement milestones. This past year, nearly 100 staff members were recognized with service awards, with four individuals marking 35 years or more of service.
The prestigious Dr. George Marshall Individual Award went to Jennifer Edwards, Director of Quality, Clinical Practice and Infection Prevention and Control at NGH. She was recognized for her dedication to safety and accountability as well as her impactful role in nurturing a compassionate hospital environment.
At the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, PSW Breanna Stone was awarded the Employee of the Year for her exemplary care and dedication to residents.
