It’s time for our Year in Review segment, where we look back at 2023 and ahead to what 2024 may bring.
We talked to Belinda Smith, Virtual Library Coordinator with the Norfolk County Public Library.
In 2023, they started their more than books campaign to show all the resources available across their multiple branches aside from the recognized paper selection.
One of the big highlights of the year was some big changes in Simcoe.
They also saw lots of interest from students during the summer break as well that they felt was incredible.
They also had their first in person literary prize ceremony since the pandemic and hosting a Youth Film festival.
Smith was also proud of all the events they attended, the different story times they hosted, the expansion of online resources, and the most recent news – the opening of the History Centre at the Simcoe Branch.
Looking ahead to 2024, they are focused on making the library better than ever.
She said while Simcoe saw big renovations in 2023, other branches are getting some upgrades in the new year.
She encourages everyone to follow them on social media and check out their website to stay up to date with all the great things happening at their many branches.
