It’s time for our Year in Review segment, where we look back at 2023 and ahead to what 2024 may bring.
We sat down with Mayor Amy Martin who said there was a lot to be proud of this past year, from starting off the year celebrating International Women’s Day with women from across Norfolk invited to a special event at council chambers to the Simcoe Seniors Centre celebrating 50 years.
Martin also had to make a special note of the Arkells making their stop here.
Politically, she is had a lot to be happy about as well from what she was able to do representing Norfolk around Ontario to what her and her fellow councillors did at council chambers.
In 2024, there is a lot to look forward to.
One thing she is happy to see is the focus on staff and showing them how much they value the work that they do.
She is also happy to be looking at the issues that can creative a brighter future for people in Norfolk.
In 2024, water supply will of course continue to be something top of mind as well as staff and council looking at urban boundary expansion.
