A protest coming to Simcoe is inspiring a wave of counteractivity from rivaling activists.
The 1 Million March 4 Children is a coast-to-coast protest initiative that aims to eliminate the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculum, pronouns, gender ideology and mixed bathrooms in schools, with the intent to “protect children from indoctrination and sexualization.”
Currently, dozens of marches are planned, on Wednesday, September 20 and school walk-outs are encourages by patrons.
In Simcoe, people are set to gather at 9 a.m. in Wellington Park.
PFLAG, an 2SLGBTQ+ allied organization, is planning counterstrikes in multiple towns, though Simcoe is not on the list at this time.
In a Facebook post, PFLAG’S Ashley O’Neill says they’ll be providing supports for communities “affected” by the 1 Million March 4 Children rally.
PFLAG is currently advocating allying public to change their Facebook profiles to a shared image that reads, “NO SPACE FOR HATE IN ONTARIO”
