
A Norfolk resident with a 30 year career in the military has been promoted to the rank of Brigadier-General.
Ryan Deming hails from Rattlesnake Harbour. He attended Nixon Public School, graduated from Delhi District Secondary School, and began his military career by studying and graduating from the Royal Military College of Canada.
Deming recently commanded 8 Wing Trenton. He was directly involved with repatriation of Canadians from around the world at the beginning of the global pandemic.
He played a role in the evacuation of personnel from Afghanistan following the Taliban resurgence and in providing military transport of international supplies in support of Ukraine in its war with Russia.
Brigadier General Deming’s new post is Director General of Air & Space Readiness.
