The Port Dover beach is on the schedule today for Norfolk County Council.
A bylaw is being proposed to regulate and promote responsible enjoyment and use of the beach.
Among the rules suggested, the beach will only be open dawn to dusk, no fires will be allowed, including barbeques, no alcohol can be consumed, domestic animals will not be permitted, and no one can dispose of garbage or refuse on the beach.
There are other rules including not erecting an oversized umbrella, no defecating or urinating on the beach, and no smoking or vaping tobacco or cannabis on the beach.
Users would receive a $75 fine if they remain on the beach after dusk, light a bonfire, erect a tent on the beach, consume alcohol, or any of the other bylaw offences.
