A free emotions workshop is taking place in Simcoe.
Sara Westbrook will be presenting “Emotions Change Choices” at the Legion on May 31 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
This is in partnership with Norfolk Association for Community Living and Community Living Access to wrap up Community Living Month.
Don Lawson, community relations at Community Living Access, explained what they’ve been up to through the month of May.
The CN Tower was lit up blue and green, the Community Living colours, at the beginning of the month and they decided to bring that to Simcoe and light up their building each night too, with the month’s campaign being called Shine a Light on Community Living.
Lawson said he has seen Westbrook speak many times and he has always wanted to get her to Norfolk.
Westbrook focuses on emotional awareness, management, and resilience.
Things she covers in her talks include circumstances happening at home, tension between colleagues, and deadlines, and how to use your emotional skills to cope with these stressors.
She has spent the last 17 years researching and presenting on the subject of emotions and their impact on choices and well-being.
The presentation is free but you do have to register prior to attending.
You can visit communitylivingaccess.ca/westbrook to find the registration information.
If you’re having issues getting through, you can contact Lawson at 519-426-0007 ext. 111 and he will help get you registered.
