It’s not a huge time commitment, and the impact you can have on the community can be substantial.
That is how Justin Konietzny first got interested in 100 Men Who Give A Damn Norfolk.
Four times a year this group holds a meeting where members “pitch” a charitable cause to support.
Everyone votes, and the cause with the most votes gets a big financial boost after each member writes a cheque for $100.
Konietzny says this is great on two levels:
First, the winning group gets much needed funding and it comes from their friends and neighbours in the community.
Second, even if a group doesn’t get the money this week, the “pitch” wasn’t for nothing.
Aside from helping charities, which is their ultimate goal, Konietzny said it is really great to have these men come together for a common goal and build a connection with one another.
He reiterated that though they are called 100 Men Who Give A Damn – they don’t cap it at 100.
The more men who sign up, the more money goes back into the community.
You are welcome to contact Konietzny or any member to talk about joining, or you can stop by one of their meetings to see what it’s all about.
