Fundraising and the name Gail Catherwood -they just go hand in hand.
Catherwood came to the studio to chat about the projects she is involved with in the community through Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise and the Cancer Support and Resource Programs.
Just coming up this year is the Dragon Boat Festival in Waterford, the CIBC Run For The Cure in Simcoe, a Fashion Show at German Hall, and a new initiative called All The Glitters in Lynnwood – though details are still being finetuned for this Christmas time idea.
When asked about how she got into fundraising, she was honest.
Catherwood joked that on her gravestone, the CIBC Run For The Cure would be listed.
If you look up Run For The Cure, you’ll find locations in all the major cities across Canada, but you’d be hard pressed to find a community the size of Norfolk on there.
When she thought about bringing the Run For The Cure to Norfolk, she didn’t realize how big a challenge this would be.
