An amazing act of kindness out of Lynndale Heights Public School.
On Tuesday morning, an assembly was held to celebrate the students generosity to the community – specifically the Warming Shelter in Downtown Simcoe.
That was Principal Lisa Vanleeuwen.
The big idea?
Collecting boxes of cereal and socks for those in need.
The boxes were spread around the gym on Tuesday morning and knocked over like a big games of dominos – much to the students delight.
Teacher Ann Reid spearheaded this idea after learning about the Warming Shelter and seeing a good place for Lynndale to jump in to help.
She said everything clicked together from the start, and the students were really behind the project the second they heard about it.
Much like math playing a good background role in this drive, they also focus on literacy with posters plastered around the school.
Church Out Serving’s Virginia Lucas was on hand to thank the students and receive the bountiful donation.
The school said this is just the first step in their efforts to spread kindness into the community.
