The Integrity Commissioner shot down a complaint against former Mayor Kristal Chopp.
In a report, it notes that Chopp – prior to the election period – had updated her personal Facebook page with a photo of herself with the Mayoral Chain Of Office beside a picture of her as a pilot saying “ready for take off.”
The person who complained felt it was early campaigning and using county property while doing so.
The Integrity Commissioner disagreed, believing the chain is connected to the Mayor and that she could use it and that this wasn’t a direct campaign launch.
