Kaley Horton wants to make sure everyone knows they are welcome at her downtown business.
Kaley’s, a Simcoe restaurant, has been undergoing some changes as they celebrate 15 years in business.
Among those changes is their new pay it forward program, where you can purchase a $2 coffee, $5 two-egg breakfast, or a $10 soup and sandwich lunch which will be kept on file for someone to come in and redeem.
The intention is that people will feel free to redeem the items, no questions asked. Anyone can use the program, including seniors, someone who forgot their wallet, or someone that just needs the extra pick-me-up.
As you enter the vestibule there is a board with tickets for all of the available meals. Horton noted that over $100 of meals had been purchased in the first week of the program.
They have also spent the last few weeks making big changes inside the business, that regulars will notice right away when they step in the door.
There are also new daily features.
While speaking with Horton at the shop last week, the door was constantly in motion as customers were coming in and out grabbing their lunches.
