Three local teachers are excited to see four years of hard work hit the stage at Lighthouse Festival.
Chris Rait, Mark Williams, and Jeannine Bouw brought their talents together to write Tip of the Iceberg, a tale of two friends in a small fishing village in Newfoundland.
Williams, a Newfoundland native, said the first conversation about writing a play happened in the staff room at the school he and Rait both worked at.
He explained what the show is all about.
After nights of writing together, telling stories, creating the characters and putting together the script, they wanted to have someone look it over.
Bouw explained the process.
Rait said they have a lot of experience keeping a crowd’s attention, and they used that to their advantage while producing the show.
He added they each brought a different perspective to the show.
The trio have seen the show come to life in front of an audience already as the show had a few nights at the Port Colborne theatre, they said while they tried to take notes about the performance they were pulled into the experience and couldn’t look away from what was happening on stage.
Throughout the show music written by Rait can be heard.
The show ran from November 9 to 13 in Port Colborne and will be on the Port Dover stage from November 16 to 26.
