Haldimand-Norfolkâs MPP believes more needs to be done to address the Ontario Disability Support Program.
During the Throne Speech, the Ontario government pledges a 5 per cent increase in payments, which would mean around $59 extra a month.
While this is a start, and Bobbi-Ann Brady is glad to see that future increases will be tied to inflation, she believes there are bigger issues that need to be brought to light.
Brady told us that she has spoken to many who are not receiving enough money to cover necessities like rent or food.
With the cost of living continuing to rise, living off such funds seems impossible for Brady.
Brady says in her previous work as the Executive Assistant to from MPP Toby Barrett, their team did a great deal of work on a White Paper containing several suggestions to tackle poverty.
She plans on bringing forward these suggestions.
