A very special event is happening this Saturday.
On December 31st, 2020, Sgt. Andrew Harnett stopped an SUV in a Calgary neighbourhood after noticing the vehicle’s license plate didn’t match its registration.
The vehicle fled the scene, dragging the Hagersville native leading to him being hit by another vehicle claiming his life.
His brother, Jason, spoke to us regarding our local community putting on a special event this weekend.
The park is located at 35 Alma Street South in Hagersville.
There will be a memory board unveiled, tree planting and park bench unveiled.
While speaking with us, Jason also updated us on new things happening in Andrew’s honour.
He also expects this month to see movement in an ongoing court case.
The park dedication takes place on September 3rd, at 10:30 a.m.
The park will officially be renamed to Sgt Andrew Harnett Memorial Park.
