The Simcoe and District Humane Society are reminding the public that they continue to be hard at work, and any support they may give is appreciated.
Through the pandemic, the Humane Society operated every single day watching hundreds of animals come through their care – for cats to dogs and a larger influx of rabbits.
They continue to see animals needing care in the community, and with care comes costs.
That was President Cathie Hoskin.
She explains that they are always busy at the shelter, and any help you can provide does go a long way.
She says even little things make a difference, from a small cash donations, to cleaning supplies, to – of course- animal products.
Cats of course continue to be the main animals served by the Humane Society locally.
Norfolk has a large stray cat population and the Humane Society will take cats in need and provide assistance.
Sometimes it’s catching the stray feline and giving them a new home or it’s releasing them back in the wild after surgery to ensure they can’t mate.
The Simcoe and District Humane Society is located on Grigg Drive in Simcoe.
More information on how to donate or how to adopt can be found on their website.
