Dan Mangan fondly remembers his time at the 2013 Gentlemen of the Road stopover festival in Simcoe.
While he was having a good time, he said he felt for the community members welcoming in the crowds.
The two-time Juno Award winner is looking forward to his return to Norfolk in August where he will be playing at the Old Town Hall in Waterford.
Mangan co-founded Side Door, which allows artists to book shows in smaller communities.
He explained why bringing live arts to towns like Waterford is important.
The British Columbia native described his performances as a connection with the audience, including moments where he uses the crowd as a choir.
Mangan said he is excited to share the stage with local artist Jonah Atkins. He added Atkins, both a musician and photographer, has taken many photos of him over the years and he is glad there is local talent performing as well.
Tickets are still available, but selling fast, for the August 7 show at Old Town Hall in Waterford.
