This Friday should be a time to celebrate in Port Dover.
Not only is it officially Canada Day, it’s also the return to big Canada Day celebrations in our lakeside community.
That was Alan Strang with Marketing and Communications for the Port Dover Lions.
He said there certainly is a buzz in the air, and he anticipates anyone coming out to watch the parade in particular will be in for a good show.
Like every Canada Day, the Lions are selling buttons at the event and ahead of time at several stores throughout the community.
These buttons, $3 each or 3 for $5, get you admission into the fireworks show in the evening and help cover costs for the day.
Strang wanted to reiterate that the Lions do everything they do on Canada Day for one reason – to celebrate with the community.
There have been some minor changes announced recently as well.
The Kinsmen Soap Box Derby has been moved to Main St, Clinton to Harbour, due to Construction.
