The Simcoe Skate Park may not be making a return to the community for a little while longer.
Last May, the skatepark was taken down after council decided to move it a county owned facility as they were paying rent to have it on the fairgrounds.
The hope, at the time, was too launch public engagement to pick the best location for the facility with staff short handing 3 possible locations.
While the pubic engagement did not move ahead as planned at the tail end of 2021, staff tell us that they will be launching a public engagement on the matter through their website in the near future.
The survey will encompass several “rec related” items, including the skate park.
Specifically, people will be asked if Simcoe still wants or needs one in the community, and then their thoughts on possible locations.
In the mean time, skateboarders are encourages to use the skate parks in Port Dover and Port Rowan.
