It looks like those hoping to enjoy time at the Simcoe Skatepark once restrictions are lifted this summer are out of luck.
The skatepark has mostly been dismantled and put into storage until a new location can be approved.
The county had been paying the Norfolk County Fair Board to have the park on the property, and chose to move the park to a new location during budget talks.
The current lease expires at the end of June, and the equipment is required to be removed by that time.
While the fencing and some other material is still there, a majority of the equipment has been packed up.
In a memo to council, staff said they believe that a community outreach process needs to occur before a new home is selected.
This public consultation will take place later this year, though no official time frame was given.
Council will be updated on the details of the public consultation and then will choose a new site for the park.
