A large crowd gathered in Brantford this weekend for a sign unveiling.
The billboard was put up by the group No More Lockdowns and had several speakers talk prior to the reveal.
The sign itself reads that lockdowns hurt families and that this will be over when the public demands it.
The common theme from the speakers was that, in their opinions, lockdowns are doing more harm than good and that the government needs to open the province up.
The Brantford Police Service said via twitter that several charges were laid for the gathering.
They noted that they recognize the right to protest, but gatherings of over 5 individuals are not permitted under Provincial orders and that public safety is their top priority.
It appears that some people who gathered at the event were pulled over while driving away, as one of the individuals – Pastor Henry Hildebrandt from Aylmer’s Church Of God – posted a video of the family being pulled over and charged.
While there is no sign unveiling, a rally is planned this weekend in Simcoe by the same group.
The goal of the group is to end provincial lockdowns through peaceful protests.
The group will meet near McDonald’s on the Queensway starting at 11 a.m.
