Proposed Norfolk County Tourism logo presented to council by Cinnamon Toast New Media.
The county trying to clear the air when it comes to a tourism branding strategy.
In a release sent to the media, it goes over some public concern and misrepresentation of the staff report and presentation that was brought to council last week.
Namely, that the logo that was shown from the report was only a draft concept that would be reviewed in the next phase of the project and the branding and the strategy are focused on tourism only, and are not intended replace the County’s current official brand.
The release also dives into the public’s outrage about hiring a Hamilton company for the project instead of a Norfolk company.
They say that Provincial legislation does not allow Norfolk County – or any municipality – to favour local businesses in the request for proposal process and that local businesses always have the opportunity to bid on County work.
Norfolk County will continue to update the community on its tourism strategy as it is developed.
