The ponds at the end of Queen St. S. in Simcoe were not dug up to deter skaters.
They were, however, cleaned by the Harvest Glen developer.
Matt Terry, director of communications for Norfolk County, said in an email that the ponds in question are storm retention ponds related to the nearby development.
The ponds fill up with sediment and need to be cleaned regularly.
The regular maintenance was performed by the developer.
