An early morning fire in Port Dover caused about $80,000 in damage.
Norfolk County Fire crews were called to the Grand Street location around 2:30.
Officials say firefighters battled a blaze on the exterior of the home that had extended into the first and second level attic space through the eaves.
The occupant was alerted to the fire and escaped safely with family pets.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
