Norfolk County has issued a call for submissions for community organizations or private groups who may be interested in operating or supporting a community hall or arena.
The county is hoping groups may have creative ideas that would address the long-term financial sustainability of these facilities.
The call for submissions covers all Norfolk County arenas, except for the Simcoe Rec Centre, which will host the Simcoe Seniors Centre.
It also includes all halls and community centres besides the Port Dover Kinsmen/Scout Hut and the Delhi Friendship Centre, which are home to the Port Dover Seniors Centre and the Delhi Seniors.
The Charlotteville Community Centre and South Walsingham Hall are also excluded from the call for submissions as they’re being addressed in a future report to Council.
None of the facilities included in the call for submissions are being considered for closure at this time.
The County has scheduled two non-mandatory, pre-submission virtual meetings for July 22nd and September 2nd- submissions will be accepted until September 29th.
The full details regarding the facilities are available online through the County.
