In the Conference Room at the Norfolk General Hospital, Dr. Larry Kramer read aloud a passage from his new book “An Imperfect Healer.”
The former local doctor spoke of a house call to an elderly patient at the end of their life but there was little talk of medicine or anything business – rather the profound impact it had on him.
That is a general tone for the book, taking stories from his medical career and looking at the personal connections it had.
Dr. Kramer said he learned more from the patients than he ever did in the classroom.
The book is available online on sites like Amazon or local at the gift shop at NGH.
When you purchase it at the gift shop, a percentage of each book sold will be directed to the Volunteer Association of the Norfolk General Hospital and Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home.
