Last night at Council, our elected officials heard from the Recreational Facilities Advisory Board as they presented their recommendations on what should be part of the Norfolk Hub project.
A new seniors centre, a 50-meter pool, 2 hockey rinks (one NHL sized), a community kitchen, and community space, and an innovation centre are all part of the initial plan for the Hub.
Gord Malo from RFAB explains that the new project wouldn’t cost much more than it would to repair the buildings it would replace.

Chair Paul Anderson was excited about the support from council.

Both County Staff and Councillors were supportive of the project.
They pointed out that it seemed like, from a financial, accessibility and health perspective, the Hub makes sense.
The goal is to apply for funding which would split the bill three ways with the municipality, the province, and the federal government.
