An online petition is making its rounds asking Tillsonburg town council to not tear down Lake Lisgar Water Park and replace it with a splash pad.
As reported by Tillsonburg News, a motion was passed to have staff investigate the possibility of making this change with the cost for the project coming in at around $1.4 million.
The Memorial Park Revitalization Advisory Committee and Recreation and Sports Advisory Committee made the recommendations and said in the report that a splash pad meets the current and future needs of the community.
The petition on Change.org is approaching the 1800 mark with the goal to show the town that the community does care about the issue.
To re-furbish or re-imagine the current water park it would cost between $4.5 and $5-million.
