U.S. President Donald Trump sent waves through the global economy when he announced that he would be imposing steep tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
We spoke with Political science professor Matt Farrell who says there are a few reasons for Trump's actions.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said yesterday he would withhold judgment until the final details are out.
His comments came just before the White House said Trump might carve out exemptions for Canada and Mexico.
Trump's top trade adviser says the exemptions would be temporary and linked to NAFTA negotiations.
