BARRETT BELIEVES IT'S BEST TO KEEP THE VOTING AGE AT 18

Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett is expressing his concerns over a proposal that Ontario lower its voting age from to 18 to 16.
Liberal MPP Arthur Potts says if 16-year-olds can be trusted to drive cars, coach soccer and pay income tax, they should be trusted to vote.
But Barrett doesn't buy it.
He feels 16-year olds are more likely to be swayed by outside sources.
Barrett fears a teacher with a political agenda could sway young minds one way or another.
Potts has tabled a private member's bill on the measure.
