YOU NOW NEED A BUILDING PERMIT TO BUILD A DOCK IN NORFOLK COUNTY

A building permit is now required if you want to build a dock in Norfolk County.

This news comes attached to the Norfolk County Council agenda after the new county solicitor did some digging and quickly let staff know about a 2016 court decision.

In that decision, it was ruled that if a dock is more than 10 square meters, then it is to be considered a "building" and now requires a permit.

That was Norfolk CAO David Cribbs.

A standard building permit is $75.00 for the first $3000 of construction value.
