DON'T PUSH SNOW ONTO THE ROAD, OPP WARN
2/12/2018 7:44:12 AM

Norfolk County residents are being reminded not to shovel snow onto freshly plowed roads.

The weekend snowstorm dumped up to 15 centimeters, which led to the expected dispatch of snowplows to clear away what Mother Nature had dropped on county streets.

It also forced police to deal with complaints.

The Norfolk OPP say several people called upset claiming that neighbors were pushing snow onto roadways.

Police say pushing snow, especially large clumps, onto the street can be dangerous for drivers.

Offenders caught dumping snow could be slapped with a fine, plus the cost to clean up the mess, according to a county bylaw.
